Bingo Group, the largest domestic group and the largest employer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which employs almost 9,000 people, 70% of whom are women, and the non-profit organization “Think Pink – Zajedno smo jedno,” whose goal is to raise awareness about breast cancer and provide support to women dealing with this disease, officially began their joint activities with the signing of the agreement.
“Our dedication to women’s empowerment is reflected in our deep conviction that it is essential for the health and social development of the family, community and country as a whole. Cooperation with the organization “Think Pink – Zajedno smo jedno” is a step towards the empowerment of women, and towards creating a world in which we all grow and develop together, and where regular check-ups become a reflection of basic self-care. My recommendation to all women, regardless of their age, is to go for regular annual check-ups that help detect diseases early and save lives.” Kunosić said.
As part of this cooperation, Bingo Group and “Think Pink – Zajedno smo jedno” organize educational events and preventive examinations for more than 6,000 Bingo Group employees. The activities started in Tuzla and the nearby towns in May of this year, where the response in relation to the total number of female employees was close to 90%.
“Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed malignant disease in women, and statistics show that one in nine women gets it. That’s why the partnership with Bingo Group is an extraordinary step forward in our common goal of fighting breast cancer. Our organization works on education and prevention, and Bingo Group will allow us to reach more women and raise awareness of the importance of regular examinations and self-examinations. Cooperation with Bingo Group is one of our most significant partnerships in the sphere of prevention and cooperation with the profitable sector, which we are extremely proud of. Together we are stronger, and together we will contribute to the better health of women in the entire region.” added Nela Hasić, regional director of the organization “Think Pink – Zajedno smo jedno”.
By signing the cooperation agreement, Bingo Group became the general sponsor of the 16th race/walk for healing “Race for the Cure”, whose goal is to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention. All funds collected through registrations are intended for the organization of free mammography examinations in rural parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for the provision of “first aid kits” to every woman who has undergone surgery for breast cancer. “Race/Walk for Healing” is held simultaneously in more than 150 cities around the world. Every year, about a million people walk or run to support the improvement of women’s health.
Bingo Group will continue to support initiatives that promote the empowerment of women, believing that this is essential for the advancement of society.
