Bingo Group has been implementing activities with the aim of providing support to women for eight years, and for the last three years, the focus has been on creating a more favourable environment in the field of female entrepreneurship
The invitation was open to all female entrepreneurs in the period from February 20 until March 6, 2023, gathered responses from 260 women responded. After the pre-selection and online voting, the expert jury chose the best ideas after the applicants had the opportunity to present their businesses in front of the jury for the first time.
“This year, a large number of votes arrived online, as many as 2,500. The fact that last year’s fund was 19,000 KM, and this year it is planned to be 30,000 KM, is also significant. However, considering that the ideas are really of high quality, during the selection process with the support of the implementation partner of the Impakt Investment Foundation and other partners and friends, we secured an additional budget of 15,000 KM, so we supported five more beneficiaries with 3,000 KM each. The significance of the project was recognized by: “Oaza”, “Nutrino Lab”, “Golden Rose”, “Libresse”, “Dorina”, “Dita”, “Alma Ras”, “Bambi”, “Milka”, “Pfanner”, “Somat”, “Swisslion”, “Meggle” and “Lactalis”, but also our customers who supported the project by purchasing items from these brands that are specially marked on our shelves,” said Amina Čeliković from the marketing department of the company “Bingo”.
After the online votes and points of the jury were added up, monetary funds were awarded, one each in the amount of 8,000 and 5,000 KM, two in the amount of 4,000 KM, and eight in the amount of 3,000 KM. In this way, successful entrepreneurs receive funds for support through raw materials, equipment, machines, or tools, which will be the starting point for the development or improvement of their own businesses. The winner of the grant funds in the highest amount of 8,000 KM is Gorica Arežina from Banja Luka, and she will invest the money in starting the production of vegan and healthy desserts. Eight entrepreneurs won grant funds of 3,000, and the other grants were awarded to: Amila Terzić from Sarajevo (4,000 KM for business expansion in the field of virtual display of interior decoration in the architectural studio Control Space), Branka Grujić from Gradiška (4,000 KM for the production of gladioli) and Aida Lokvančić from Sarajevo, who won 5,000 KM for improving the production of lazy bags, soft play couches, mattress toppers and pillows in the newly established family business Cut&Stitch.
