Have you ever wondered what it was like to start something 140 years ago? Or what beer tasted like back then. Did people, just as they do today, sing with their arms around each other, fueled by “barley and hops juice”? Did beer back then also bring people together and encourage socializing?
The year 1884 was very significant for Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina and all of humanity. For example, it was then that Nikola Tesla developed and patented innovations that later led to the development of alternating current systems.
While the first trains were beginning to make their way through our land, and electric light was a novelty, Pivara Tuzla opened in the city of salt, becoming a symbol of quality and tradition. Its products, like Tuzlanski pilsner, would go on to witness some of humanity’s most outstanding achievements.
Although the famous French engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel didn’t use Tuzlanski pilsner as a source of inspiration while constructing the iconic Eiffel Tower on the banks of the Seine in the late 1880s, both the tower and the beer still evoke admiration from many to this day.
Despite the skeptics, the Wright brothers, Wilbur and Orville, took off from the ground in their wooden airplane at Kitty Hawk Beach in 1903. Accompanied by the sound of the engine and the wind in the wings, their flight, which lasted only 12 seconds, marked the beginning of a new era. And while they soared, the Pilsner was already giving many generations a lift with its quality.
In 1969, the world held its breath as the Apollo 11 astronauts landed on the Moon’s surface. As Neil Armstrong descended from the spacecraft, making “a small step for man, but a giant leap for mankind,” his feat was celebrated on Earth with – Tuzlanski pilsner.
From its humble beginnings long ago, Pivara Tuzla has grown and changed, but it has always remained faithful to its tradition, which is the secret of its 140-year-long success. Surviving for so long in a turbulent world is an achievement worth toasting, so cheers to that!
A special edition of Tuzlanski pilsner with a blue label is now on sale
The oldest brand of Pivara Tuzla is still produced today according to a very demanding and old recipe in a completely natural way. This characteristic must be highlighted because almost all modern breweries, especially those owned by large corporations, produce beer that is nowhere near as traditional and natural. It is no surprise, then, that Pivara Tuzla has prepared a special edition of “Tuzlak” to mark the grand 140 years during which it has faithfully accompanied the development of its city.
The special edition of Tuzlanski Pilsner with a blue label, which becomes part of the brewery’s history in the heart of Tuzla, will be distributed in Bingo shopping centers.
