Checks in the amount of 75,000 KM were presented to representatives of organizations managing these key institutions for the protection of women and children survivors of violence: Vive Žene Tuzla, Žene BiH Mostar, Medica Zenica, Žene s Une Bihać, and Fondacija lokalne demokratije Sarajevo from the Federation of BiH, as well as Budućnost Modriča, Udružene žene Banja Luka, and Lara Bijeljina from Republika Srpska.
Safe houses in BiH provide shelter and support to women who have survived violence, and donations like this directly contribute to improving their living conditions, ensuring safety, psychological and legal assistance, and support for independence.
“On behalf of the Network of Safe Houses in the Federation of BiH, we sincerely thank Bingo for this significant financial support dedicated to operating five safe houses in Mostar, Zenica, Tuzla, Bihać, and Sarajevo. This donation will enhance services and create a safer environment for women and children who have suffered violence, providing them with essential support and resources for a fresh start. Partnerships with socially responsible companies like Bingo contribute to long-term sustainability and improved quality of life for those at the greatest risk. We hope to continue this collaboration and develop joint initiatives that will further strengthen the protection system and aid those who need it most,” said Jasna Zečević, Director of Vive Žene Tuzla.
Gorica Ivić, Director of Udružene žene Foundation Banja Luka, emphasized the importance of long-term initiatives that ensure the sustainability of these centers.
“The decision to take this step certainly did not come by chance. It required awareness of violence against women and the understanding that, as a society, we must do everything in our power to end it. Lives lost to domestic violence cannot be brought back, but others can be saved. This step sends a message that we are not alone in this fight, and we hope it marks the beginning of a new path toward zero tolerance for violence.”
Bingo Group recently launched a campaign supporting initiatives to introduce femicide into the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH and to pass a new Law on Protection from Domestic Violence in Republika Srpska. This initiative gathered an impressive 100,000+ signatures from employees and citizens across BiH. In addition to symbolic support for the organizations that initiated these efforts, Bingo Group has also provided concrete assistance, allocating 1,000,000 KM for safe houses.
The remaining 400,000 KM will be directed toward additional activities supporting safe houses.
